IOS / iPhone Mail App

Anybody has the problem with iPhone (and iPad) Mail App not showing mail? It shows "No Mail" and a blank screen. Any suggestion as to how to solve this problem? I closed the app and reopen the app and it still does not show the emails.

Thanks Barry. This iPad is band new and has never been connected. My PC connect to my iPhone OK. You know that the new iPad comes with a USB C cable and connectors. I don't have a USB C to USB cable, so I am using a Lightning female to USB C male adaptor. That could be the problem?
